About fire alerts
Summary
The Los Angeles Fire Department publishes alerts for newsworthy incidents throughout the city, including major fires, traffic accidents and rescues. We at EveryBlock receive these alerts and map them, so you can find out about events near you.
Each alert includes an address, date and time, a short description of the incident, written by the fire department, and the fire station that responded. Note that the fire department only publishes alerts for incidents that it deems newsworthy — so this is not a full list of every fire incident in the city.
The department also notes that the incidents aren't official warnings or advisories, official instructions or permission to take action.

The data comes from the LAFD Alert Google Group, which is published by the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fire department posts alerts throughout the day, and we at EveryBlock update our site hourly.
